PADI Scuba Diver Course

Short on time and long on the urge to become a certified diver? The PADI Scuba Diver certification might just be for you. This course requires less time than the PADI Open Water Diver course, covering only the first three of five sections of knowledge development, the first three of five pool sessions, and the first two of four open water training dives, resulting in a limited certification. Particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily in the company of a dive guide or if you have limited time to devote to scuba certification, consider becoming a PADI Scuba Diver.

This certification allows for ample dive experience and is a good warm-up for the Open Water Diver course, if that’s your ultimate goal. PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:

Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.

Obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba equipment and participate in other diving activities as long as they have the required supervision.

Continue their dive training and complete PADI Open Water Diver certification and other courses such as Project AWARE and equipment speciality courses.

The Scuba Diver certification opens the door on the underwater world for anyone who’s thought that a course would take too long or be too difficult.

Upgrade to Open Water Diver whenever you want! With less time than the Scuba Diver course takes, you can make the jump to Open Water Diver certification and start scuba diving independently whenever time allows or you’re up for more.

What You Learn:-

All the basics of scuba diving through knowledge development, a set of scuba skills in confined water that you’ll use again during open water dives, and an appreciation for the underwater world that will keep you coming back for more bottom time every chance you get!
During the course you’ll cover material and practice skills related to topics such as:

* Buoyancy skills including comfortable ascents and descents, and breathing underwater.
* Staying warm underwater, streamlining your swimming skills and buddy diving techniques.
* Diving environments and aquatic life you’re likely to encounter.
* Preventing common problems underwater.
* An introduction to boat diving.

   Itinerary & Highlights

Day 1: Transfer from Nice airport to your hotel
Day 2: Knowledge Review 1 & Confined Water 1 + Open Water 1 & Knowledge Review 2
Day 3: Knowledge Review 3 & Confined Water 2 + Open Water 2 & Certification paperwork
Day 4: Transfer to Nice airport (late afternoon or evening flight)

At the end of the day we usually grab a drink at a local bar to discuss the day’s diving and debrief you in a relaxed atmosphere, and complete logbooks and paperwork. This is also a great way to learn more about diving by discussing things with our other clients. If at the end of this course, you want to continue the adventure and become an Open Water Diver, it will only take an additional 1.5 days. For more details, have a look at the Open Water course package holiday we offer on Adventure Sport Holidays.

You will stay in a very good and reasonable one or two star hotel in the centre of Juan Les Pins, where you are close enough to enjoy all that Antibes/Juan Les Pins have to offer. Very close to the beaches if you (or non-divers) fancy a bit of sunbathing or if you prefer more action you can take the train to Cannes (10 minutes), Nice (15 minutes) or to Monaco (30 minutes) to visit this famous Principality and the excellent Oceanographic Museum. We will be pleased to give you advice if you want to enjoy a good traditional French meal in one of the many restaurants in Antibes old town or just have a drink in a good pub to relax after the day’s efforts.

   Accommodation & Centre Details

We offer two very good hotels neat the centre of Juan Les Pins. Both have been hand-picked according to a number of factors including value for money, location, atmosphere, service and friendliness of staff and decor.

The two star has an on site Provencal garden restaurant open in the high season which is popular with the locals. The quality of the rooms in the one star hotel could easily pass for two star.
