PADI Open Water Referal
The PADI referral course is a preparatory session for the full open water diver PADI certificate. In this course you’ll learn the fundamental elements of diving and how to handle your equipment, allowing you to spend longer underwater. Although you won’t be certified as an independent diver as you’ll always be accompanied by an instructor, you will be permitted to dive to depths of up to 12m. You can later have this course extended to complete the Open Water Diver qualification, allowing you to move up to the next level without doing the complete course. It’s a great opportunity to experience a professional dive without the need to commit 100% to the complete course.

The course consists of 3 phases. Firstly, you’ll cover the three theory modules which form part of the Open Water Diver course, involving a video presentation and detailed explanations from your instructors. Secondly, you’ll move on to the practical side of the course, taking place in the pool or in confined waters. Here, you’ll learn the techniques which you’ll eventually put into practice in open waters. Finally, with your instructor, you’ll do two dives of up to 12m. The course is ideal if you have little time as it can be completed in 3 days, and after being signed off, you have 12 months to complete your 4 open water dives in any recognised PADI Dive Centre around the world. |
