   Itinerary & Highlights

PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) courses are the most recognised scuba diving courses in the world and our instructors in Australia will take you through the first three PADI courses: Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver. At various stages during the course you will spend time in the classroom and in the pool, learning the theoretical and practical elements required for each qualification, before taking to the ocean and experiencing these skills for real.

Your first underwater encounter with a wobbegong or a blue groper is sure to leave a lasting impression (and not just because of their bizarre names) and you will soon be exploring the magnificent reefs, caverns and wrecks that Sydney has to offer. The majority of your training and diving will take place in the Sydney area and there may be opportunities for you to explore further afield during your course. One thing is for sure, this course is a great start to a lifetime of diving at great locations all over the world.

Qualifications
All the qualifications you receive during the course are accredited by PADI which was founded in the 1960’s and is now the world’s largest diver training organisation. PADI offers the most respected and sought after scuba credentials in the world so, no matter where you choose to dive, the certification card is recognised and accepted.

Recreational diving hierarchy:
- Open Water
- Advanced Open Water
- Rescue Diver (Emergency First Response) – you will finish at this point.
- Master Scuba Diver
- Divemaster

What next?
After gaining any PADI qualification you will be able to dive at any PADI affiliated centre anywhere in the world, of which there are over 5,000 in over 180 different countries! From this point on the world is your oyster and after discovering whether you’re more fascinated by wrecks or reefs, you’re in a great position to start expanding your logbook with great dives in any number of exotic locations.
If you are keen to continue diving recreationally, why not try for your Master Diver qualification or do a Specialty Diver Course such as Underwater Photography or Night Diver. For divers who want to pursue diving as a possible career option, the Divemaster qualification is the first step towards becoming a full instructor and as a certified Divemaster you will be able to assist professional instructors with student dives.

   Accommodation & Centre Details

The accommodation is comfortable and situated in the Northern Beaches. You will stay in a single, twin or dormitory style room with shared toilets and showers. The accommodation has a great social atmosphere and is only a short walk to nearby shops, restaurants and cafes.

Living in the Northern Beaches:
During the course you will live in one of the towns in the Northern Beaches district of New South Wales. This collection of buzzing beaches (and small towns) to the north east of Sydney is full of local and international water sports enthusiasts. Surfers, kitesurfers, swimmers, windsurfers and sunbathers all flock to the Northern Beaches, and most notably Manly Beach (the southernmost in the chain), in a bid to ride the perfect wave and make the most of its unrivalled social scene. Manly town and beach are easily accessible from Sydney by ferry (about 30 mins). The northernmost beach in this chain is Palm Beach, where they film Australian soap Home and Away and where property prices are sky high – definitely an interesting place to wander around and people-watch. The Northern Beaches are full of lively and laid back bars and restaurants so it won’t take you long to find a few favourites and make the most of your time off!
