     Scuba Diving Beginner - Divemaster

Scuba Diving in Manly (Australia) with Global Sports Xperience

This course is designed for complete beginners who are keen to hit the ground running (or the water swimming!) through the PADI recreational diving courses from Open Water to Divemaster. You will be based in Manly with plenty of opportunities to dive in the wider Sydney area. You will be taught by some of the world’s most respected and experienced PADI instructors who will endeavour to pass on as much of their scuba knowledge as possible. As you add more dives to your log book and increase your theoretical and technical understanding, the route to achieving the PADI Divemaster qualification is yours for the taking! The course also involves some specialist courses to further enhance your diving knowledge and expand your diving skills – night diving anyone? This will allow you to leave the course as an accomplished PADI Divemaster, ready to work and dive all over the world.

Diving in Australia

   Itinerary & Highlights

As a beginner scuba diver all that heavy equipment and breathing apparatus might seem a bit scary, so our highly qualified instructors will take you through the basics behind the sport including setting up and maintaining your equipment to make sure you understand important safety procedures. Scuba diving really is a very safe sport and we are here to give you the best possible start to a lifetime of fun and exciting diving. The introductory phase will involve sessions in the classroom and the pool before embarking on your first ocean dive. You will begin with the first course in the PADI programme – Open Water – and upon successful completion will move on to Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, Emergency First Response and finally Divemaster accreditation.

As you increase your dive count you will also work through two specialist PADI dive courses: Enriched Air and Night Diver. These modules are all designed to improve your proficiency as a diver and add to your already extensive qualifications. Our course is one of the most comprehensive around and goes well beyond the minimum requirements set down by PADI. Successful completion of the whole course will see you leave Australia as an accomplished scuba diver ready to explore the waters of the world and maybe take the next step towards becoming an instructor.

Scuba diving in Sydney is excellent and you will be spoilt for choice with regards to different dive sites – from the fascinating wrecks in Sydney Harbour to the reef and rocks of Shelly Beach you will be able to explore an array of different sites and swim-through caverns which will leave you excited to see more. This course is the complete package and a great way to gain some pretty impressive qualifications while living and diving in Australia. The skills you will acquire will set you apart from many other scuba divers and your prospects for a career in diving, or even just a lifetime of recreational diving, will be seriously enhanced.

Qualifications
All the qualifications you receive during the course are accredited by PADI which was founded in the 1960’s and is now the world’s largest diver training organisation. PADI offers the most respected and sought after scuba credentials in the world so, no matter where you choose to dive, the certification card is recognised and accepted.

Recreational diving hierarchy:
- PADI Open Water
- PADI Advanced Open Water
- PADI Rescue Diver (Emergency First Response)
- PADI Divemaster

Specialist Diving Courses:

What next?
After gaining your PADI Divemaster qualification you will be in a great position to gain paid work alongside PADI diving instructors anywhere in the world. You can assist instructors with student dives and begin working towards various instructor qualifications such as Open Water Scuba Instructor and Specialty Instructor. If one of the specialty courses has sparked a particular interest maybe night diving is something you want to explore further.

Alternatively, why not extend your experience and opt for other Specialist Diving Courses:
- PADI Deep Diver
- PADI Wreck Diver
- PADI Equipment Specialist

There are over 5,000 PADI affiliated sites in over 180 different countries worldwide so you certainly won’t be short of possible destinations and your time in Australia will have stimulated a real passion for scuba diving.

Living in the Northern Beaches:
During the course you will live in one of the towns in the Northern Beaches district of New South Wales. This collection of buzzing beaches (and small towns) to the north east of Sydney is full of local and international water sports enthusiasts. Surfers, kitesurfers, swimmers, windsurfers and sunbathers all flock to the Northern Beaches, and most notably Manly Beach (the southernmost in the chain), in a bid to ride the perfect wave and make the most of its unrivalled social scene. Manly town and beach are easily accessible from Sydney by ferry (about 30 mins). The northernmost beach in this chain is Palm Beach, where they film Australian soap Home and Away and where property prices are sky high – definitely an interesting place to wander around and people-watch. The Northern Beaches are full of lively and laid back bars and restaurants so it won’t take you long to find a few favourites and make the most of your time off!
