The dive school you will be based at is recognised as one of the country’s leading scuba centres in South Africa and is home to a number of the industry’s top instructors and course directors. Furthermore, being located in Port Elizabeth, divers not only get to discover the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, they are right next door to South Africa’s stunning Garden Route. Swim with amazing marine life, including dolphins, seals, and sharks, and then go on safari with lion, elephant and buffalo!
The dive school is supported by a selection of PADI and NAUI qualified dive instructors with a wealth of experience and specialist knowledge on diving in the Indian Ocean. The instructor team will ensure you make the most of your time in South Africa in a safe and friendly environment, allowing you to discover some of the finest dive sites around.

The Qualifications – PADI
All the qualifications you receive during the course are accredited by PADI (the Professional Association of Diving Instructors). PADI was founded in the 1960’s and is now the world’s largest diver training organisation. PADI offers the most respected and sought after scuba credentials in the world so, no matter where you choose to dive, the certification card is recognized and accepted.
Outlined below is the hierarchy of PADI qualifications that take you from a beginner up to the final level in scuba training – Course Director. This beginner's course will take you as far as the Rescue Diver certification. However, we also offer a Rescue Diver-Divemaster course if you wish to take your training further. The Divemaster certification is the final stage in your recreational dive training, and the first stage towards becoming a professional instructor.

Accommodation

The accommodation is basic but comfortable and you will stay in a single or twin room. The accommodation is solely for scuba trainees and is a short taxi ride away from the main accommodation where you will be welcome to socialise with other sports volunteers at the weekends (when not diving). You will find the scuba house a great place to relax and unwind in the evenings, and an ideal place to study for the various courses and exams you will be taking.
The accommodation is also conveniently located near to the dive school. Shops and other useful amenities are either a short walk or taxi ride away. Transfers from the accommodation to the dive school and dive sites are also included. |
