Living in the Northern Beaches:
During the course you will live in one of the towns in the Northern Beaches district of New South Wales. This collection of buzzing beaches (and small towns) to the north east of Sydney is full of local and international water sports enthusiasts. Surfers, kitesurfers, swimmers, windsurfers and sunbathers all flock to the Northern Beaches, and most notably Manly Beach (the southernmost in the chain), in a bid to ride the perfect wave and make the most of its unrivalled social scene. Manly town and beach are easily accessible from Sydney by ferry (about 30 mins). The northernmost beach in this chain is Palm Beach, where they film Australian soap Home and Away and where property prices are sky high – definitely an interesting place to wander around and people-watch. The Northern Beaches are full of lively and laid back bars and restaurants so it won’t take you long to find a few favourites and make the most of your time off! |
