Malta is one of the top dive destinations in the Meditteranean due to its well run dive centres, excellent visibility, underwater topography and fantastic value.

The three Islands that make up the Maltese Archipelago - Malta, the largest; Gozo, the mythical isle of Calypso; and tiny Comino, famous for its Blue Lagoon - form a very special diving site at the heart of the Mediterranean. The Islands invite you to discover their natural harbours, bays, sheltered creeks, cliffs, reefs and wrecks. The waters here are some of the most limpid and clear in the world. Visibility is excellent down to around 30 metres. So Malta is a dream destination for underwater photography. Marine life flourishes in a vibrant display of colours.

This resort offers great diving for beginners and experienced divers as diving can be accessed from the shore. The conservation measures mean there are large numbers of tuna, grouper and jacks.

Itinerary / Highlights

Excellent underwater visibility as well as warm and current free waters both in Summer (average 26 degrees Celsius) and in Winter (average 15 degrees Celsius), ensure that Malta diving is an activity that can be carried out any time of the year.

Due to the geographical structure of the islands, it is possible to safely train novice divers in the sea from day one. These student divers are given the possibility to enjoy the world underwater as they train to reach the qualification they desire.

For certified divers there are a range of dive sites including wrecks, caves and reefs in shallow waters. The dive sites on this page come with maximum and average depths to be found on the sites. However, there are several sites where, although the maximum depths exceed 15 - 20 metres, we have listed them as being also suitable for novice divers, or recently certified divers with little diving experience. This is because the underwater landscape allows us to easily limit the maximum depth of the dive to shallower depths.
