Backpacking Tour Mexico, Guatemala & Belize.

Enjoy a fantastic expedition in the Maya World for 02 months. During this time you will have a great variety of adventure, nature, and cultural activities some of the adventure activities you will be able to do:

Hiking in the Maya jungle, kayaking in the wetlands an coral reefs of Mexico and Belize, and boating in unique protected areas of Mexico and Belize; snorkeling and diving in the amazing and unique cenotes (underground rivers with crystal waters) and in the second largest reef in the world. Rappelling in to caves in the Yucatan Peninsula, zipline across the Mexican jungle, biking in the Maya area.

Some of the great nature activities you will be able to enjoy are:

Wildlife observation such as crocodiles, monkeys, flamingos, dolphins, whale sharks, mantas, iguanas, etc.. in the natural protected areas of Mexico, Guatemala and Belize.

Some of the amazing activities you will be able to enjoy in the terms of culture are visiting unique archaeological sites in the Maya World such as Tikal in Guatemala, Chichen Itza, Tulum, Coba, Palenque in Mexico; also visit unique maya villages and be able to contribute with volunter activities in the Maya area.

Itinerary / Highlights

Day 1
Welcome and briefing on trip, safety and health issues, by our guide and transfer to the hostel to check-in, then free at leisure. Overnight in Cancun

Day 2
Enjoy travelling in your bicycle to the beach. Enjoy the great turquoise color water of the ocean. Back to the city. Spanish lesson. (Spanish book included). Overnight in Cancun.

Day 3
Bike excursion to Puerto Juarez where we will take ferry to Isla Mujeres. Isla Mujeres bicycle tour and snorkeling. Ferry to Puerto Juarez and bicycle back to hostel. Spanish lesson. Overnight in Cancun.

Day 4
Free day. Overnight in Cancun.

Day 5
Depart to Playa del Carmen to take the ferry to Cozumel, arrive to the hostel and enjoy the island in your own. Overnight in Cozumel.

Day 6
PADI certification course / Visit to the island museum and cycling to Playa Azul. Spanish lesson. Overnight in Cozumel.

Day 7
PADI certification course / Optional snorkel trip. Spanish lesson. Overnight in Cozumel.

Day 8
Cycling to Mezcalito Beach. Spanish lesson. Overnight in Cozumel. Certification party!

Day 9
Ferry to Playa del Carmen and transfer to Nuevo Durango to enjoy adventure and community involvement, visit insect museum, introduction to caves, enjoy the Swallow's well at dusk. Overnight in rustic cabins in the community.

Day 10
Rappel in two caves to marvel on the formations, enjoy a demanding, fun tour; to finish with a gold pin, rappel in to the town's cenote for a refreshing bath. Evening basketball matches with the locals. Spanish lesson. Overnight in the community.

Day 11
Travel towards Merida colonial city. On the way, stop to swim in Yokdzonot. Follow to Merida. Arrival and check in at Nomadas hostel.

Day 12
Merida City tour, traditional and handcrafts market. Spanish lesson. Evening at leisure.

Day 13
Regional Anthropology Museum and Montejo Av. Spanish lesson.

Day 14
Day off, catch up with your mail, laundry, etcetera. Optional cenotes and Haciendas tour. Spanish lesson.

Day 15
Travel to Campeche, arrival to the hostel. City tour to enjoy this almost too beautiful colonial city, declared humanity's heritage by UNESCO in 1999.

Free day

Day 17
Jog to Baluarte San Miguel, visit the Mayan culture museum. Spanish lesson. Free evening.

Day 18
Early visit to the wharf to fish.

Day 19
Day trip to Palenque, free evening. Overnight in Palenque.

Day 20
Visit Palenque archeological site to enjoy this fascinating site and museum. Afterwards, optional tour to the Misol-Ha water falls. Spanish lesson. Overnight in Palenque.

Day 21
Day trip to San Cristobal de Las Casas. Stop at Agua Azul waterfalls to enjoy one of Mexico's most renowned natural beauties. Overnight in San Cristobal.

Day 22
Visit to the Cathedral and Santo Domingo temple; enjoy the ethnic diversity of San Cristobal and the handcrafts market. Spanish lesson. Free evening. Overnight in San Cristobal.

Day 23
Enjoy the visit to the town of San Juan Chamula and be overwhelmed by the cultural shock of the fusion of Maya and Catholic rituals.Spanish lesson. Overnight in San Cristobal.

Day 24
Travel day to Las Cotorras at the Montes Azules biosphere reserve, enjoy a rural community and learn from their ancient wisdom.

Day 25
Take the opportunity to go hiking, practice archery, and visit Las Cotorras. Spanish lesson. Overnight in Las Cotorras.

Day 26
Breakfast. Travel to Frontera Corozal, boat ride transfer to La Tecnica and bus ride to Flores. Overnight in Flores.

Day 27
Visit the Church of our Lady of Asuncion where locals worship the Black Christ of Peten and enjoy the boat ride to ARCAS, a veterinarian facility ran by volunteers from all over the world to aid the wounded wild life of the area. Party time at Roots Bar special welcome to Guatemala. Overnight in Flores.

Day 28
Early departure to enjoy Tikal in the mist, wild life roams freely in the archaeological site.Spanish lesson. Overnight in Flores.

Day 29
Trip to Ixpanpajuil to camp and enjoy hiking in the jungle, Zip Line included, optional Sky Walk and horse back riding.

Day 30
Depart to Yaxha and San Ignacio. Overnight in San Ignacio Cayo, Belize.

Day 31
City tour. Blend with the odd variety of Guatemala-bound travelers. Spanish lesson.

Day 32
Walk to Cahal Pech archaeological site. Spanish lesson.

Day 33
Canoeing on the Macal river for wildlife observation, birds, iguanas and more!

Day 34
Physical Conditioning. Travel to Barton's Creek, canoeing to the cave, camp and relax. Spanish lesson.
Optional night cave tour. Overnight camping.

Day 35
Physical Conditioning. Self guided tours to hike in the jungle, optional, but not included horseback riding, high profile hiking to climb a 700 ft. waterfall, or a cave with Mayan remains. Spanish lesson. Overnight camping.

Day 36
Travel to San Ignacio, in our way back we'll visit the Big Rock Cascade, arrive to the hostel. Free evening.

Day 37
Physical Conditioning. Day off, catch on with your laundry, mail and personal issues.

Day 38
Travel day to Chetumal. Arrive to the hostel in Mexico.

Day 39
Physical Conditioning. Bus ride to Kantemo to witness a unique marvel of nature, where some organisms have adapted to live in the severe conditions of total darkness inside a cave. Camping overnight by the lagoon.

Day 40
Cycle back to town, breakfast at the market in Jose Ma. Morelos? Arrive to Tulum hostel.

Day 41
Physical Conditioning. Bike to cenote Tankah, enjoy the crystal clear water and beauty of these eons old geological formations. Spanish lesson. Overnight in Tulum.

Day 42
Physical Conditioning. Day off to enjoy the beach, and catch on with your personal issues.

Day 43
Physical Conditioning. Visit the famous Tulum archeological site. Enjoy the fantastic view of the Caribbean from the cliffs of Tulum archaeological site. Cycle back to town. Spanish lesson. Overnight in Tulum.

Day 44
Physical conditioning. Travel day to Valladolid, on the road we'll visit Coba Archaeological site and will climb the highest Mayan structure in the Yucatan Peninsula, swim at Cenote Cho Ha and arrive to Valladolid hostel.

Day 45
Cycle to cenote X'keken in the town of Dzitnup, probably the most famous cenote in the world. Spanish lesson. Evening at leisure.

Day 46
Early departure to Chichen Itza, we'll visit one of the Marvels of the Modern World, afterwards swim at a cenote 27 meters underground in the town of Kawa. Spanish lesson.

Day 47
Physical conditioning. City tour, visit the 457 years old monastery, Church, Government Palace and Main Square. Spanish lesson.

Day 48
Cycle to Ek Balam through the jungle, upon arrival settle at the hostel and go swim to the cenotes. Spanish lesson. Overnight in Ek Balam.

Day 49
Physical conditioning. Trip to Rio Lagartos to see flamingos. Follow then back to visit Ek Balam archaeological site.

Day 50
After breakfast rappel and zip line at cenote Xcanche. Then take public transportation to Playa del Carmen. After lodging, walk on 5th avenue to enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere of “Playa”

Day 51
Breakfast. Free day to enjoy beach, town, area.
Overnight in Playa del Carmen.

Farewell party at Las Guacamayas
