The Egyptian Red Sea cannot be beaten for value for money - within a five hour flight you have access to some of the best diving in the world with a selection of excellent hotels and liveaboards.

We specialise in Egypt, not just in the dive resorts but we also have extensive knowledge of the interior of the country. Many of us have lived and worked in the area for many years so please do call for some first hand advice and recommendations.

A breathtaking coastline of sun-drenched beaches and crystal-clear water make Dahab a favourite among divers and travellers alike. Dahab's picturesque landscape, its spectacular mountain ranges and golden palm fringed bays make it an excellent resort for those seeking a quiet, relaxing holiday, away for the hustle and bustle of the busier resorts.

The local area offers various places of interest that can be visited by camel or jeep. Dahab still holds its own atmosphere and character that is unique. You will experience while walking along the beach front, lined with coffee houses and bazaars, the radiant colour, jumble, noise and aroma, that makes up Dahab.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean or lake) dives. The course takes 5 days. Advanced course is also available.

Itinerary / Highlights

The diving in Dahab is almost all straight in off the shore with no real currents or drops offs (except at the Blue Hole) to speak off. The main attraction for divers here is the variety of the underwater topography with its canyons and tunnels.

For the more adventurous a popular way to dive is on Camel Dive Safaris which can be for between 1 and 3 days. It is a great way to explore some of this amazing coast line at its best - a quite amazing experience!

Sinia Divers are a long standing 5* PADI dive centre with an outstanding record for excellent service. There branch in Dahab is based at the Hilton Hotel on the Lagoon, the best hotel in Dahab. The diving-school program ranges from Bubblemaker to Instructor Training and offers regular TEC diving courses from basic Nitrox up to Extended Range. Beginner course are held in air conditioned class rooms and then the confined water training starts either in the fresh-water pool or in the lagoon in front of the centre.

The diving day with 2- 3 dives starts at 9am and ends at a around 5pm. Depending on the dive-site lunch is taken either at the Hotel or in one of the coffee-shops the beach. Night dives, exciting drift-dives or day excursions by jeep and camel extend the program. Two-day camel-safaris, trips to Ras Mohamed, the Straits of Tiran and the wreck of the Thistlegorm can be organized on request.

During the winter months of November to March the Red Sea coastal resorts of Egypt offer a very comfortable 22 - 28 c, perfect for a bit of winter sun. As you head into the summer months the temperature rises steeply peaking to around 40c in August! However, the high temperatures are made more comfortable with very low humidity and a constant seas breeze.

During the winter months we would recommend between 7 and 5 mm wetsuit but then only a 3mm shortie for the mid summer months. Please note that on some of the deeper dive sites you can encounter colder under currents.

Egypt can be visited year around with equally good diving.

Accommodation Details

There are two main areas to stay in Dahab; the Lagoon or Masbat (the local beach front town). We work only with hotels on the Lagoon as in Masbat the standard of accommodation is very basic. On the Lagoon you will find a handfull of excellent 4 and 5 star hotels.

Dahab Hilton
The Dahab Hilton is one of our most popular properties and our most popular hotel for divers as Sinai Divers is located on site. For such a high standard of hotel it is excellent value for money offering excellent service, great facilities and a prime beach location by the Club Mistral centre.

Swiss Inn (Half Board)
The Swiss Inn is a very nice beach front property with good facilities and location. This hotel is compulsory half board only, a point that should be considered when comparing prices with other hotels here. The Club Mistral Windsurf Centre is located just along the beach.

Dahab Iberotel (Half Board)
Part of the class Iberotel chain, this recently opened hotel (opened March 2004) is a welcome addition to the Dahab lagoon. The hotel offers a high level of facilities, luxury rooms and very comfortable surroundings.

Coralia Club
The Novotel is at the most northerly end of the bay. Although only a mid category hotel we do have a lot of specific requests and repeat clients for this property. This is mostly due to the excellent Harry Nass windsurf school and the best windsurf launch.
