Diani Beach After extensive investigation into all the resorts along this coast line Planet have chosen to offer Diani Beach as our preferred holiday destination in East Africa. Here you will find one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, away from the main tourist areas found in Mombasa North Coast. Here at Planet we endeavour to provide impartial advice on all our destinations and enjoy constructing tailor-made itineraries to suit your exact requirements. This is especially important in Kenya, as there is such a wide choice of activities, both above and below the water. The water temperature is generally around 27 C and is constant to depths exceeding sport-diving limits. A 3mm wetsuit should be sufficient. While most diving is from boats, there are also some exciting shore dives.

Itinerary

Diving The Crab was established in 1985 and since then has established itself as the premier dive operation in the Diani Beach region. They have dive bases at most of the key hotels along this coast line, so that where ever you stay you’re never far from access to some amazing diving.

Kenya's south coast, where the Idyllic Indian Ocean provides warm hospitable waters, is teeming with marine life. The reefs are extremely diverse and all standards of diving can be found to suit even the most fastidious diver. Often on the way to the dive sites the boat will slow down to play with a school of friendly dolphins or the gentlest of giants, the whale shark.

Diving The Crab has qualified Instructors offering PADI and SSI Scuba Diving courses, from basic "Scuba Diver" through to "Divemaster". They can also give you and "Intro" to the wonders of Diving to wet your appetite and let you dive with an Instructor.

Kite Village
A cozy-run surfer’s accommodation directly on the most stunning beach in Kenya. This is a dream location for all those who just want to roll out of bed and kitesurf. The house is open from 06 January to 20 March and 20 June to September.

Shambani Cottages
Shambani Cottages are what holidays dreams are made of! A collection of three cottages and two villas in private grounds on the edge of Diani resort, these traditionally made properties will give you a true African experience. Although not located on the beach they have beautiful tropical gardens with five bicentenary baobabs and a lovely pool area. The beach is just across the road but it is safer to go down to the centre at Nomads for kitesurfing. This is a real favourite with Planet staff!
