Six Day Sail Plus Diving Holiday in Greece

Trip Highlights

Combine six days on a cruising yacht with diving in one of Europe's most fascinating areas. Diving in Greece used to be restricted to a few areas. The laws have changed and you can now dive in most places, but only with a recognised diving centre. This package includes dives at three PADI dive centres. Each of the dives will give you a different type of underwater experience. You will travel on a 40 foot sailing yacht, and can join in the sailing or simply laze in the sunshine. RYA instruction is available on board for those who want to learn to sail. Our Sail-Dive package is available once a month to individuals and couples. Contact us for dates. NOTE FOR DIVE CLUBS For groups of 5 or more people we can arrange this trip during any week from mid March to the end of October, depending upon availability of the yacht.

Itinerary

SUNDAY: Arrive Aegina. After a safety briefing, sail to the attractive island of Poros. On the way you'll get your first sailing lessons and can practice tacking in the big lagoon of Poros Bay.

MONDAY: AM - vertical cliff face dive with Poros Diving Centre. Poros means 'strip of water' and the island is separated from the mainland by a narrow channel. Most of the island is protected by conservation orders. The dive is a short boat trip to the more remote eastern side of the island. PM Sail south to the Ermioni peninsula

TUESDAY: AM Reef dive with Kallianos Dive Centre. The headland of Ermioni is dedicated to "Aphrodite of the Deep Sea" and the town has strong maritime links. The dive centre is built on the largest of a group of tiny islands that form a reef a mile south of the town. PM Sail and moor in a tranquil bay or visit lively Hydra island

WEDNESDAY: All day sail around the outside of Poros to the bay of Epidavros. Optional visit to the ancient theatre, which is the best preserved example of its kind in the world..

THURSDAY: AM Wreck dive with Epidive. Epidive is based in the village of Old Epidhavros which lies tucked into a small bay. The wreck, of a 1500 ton vessel, is only 3 years old and lies in 28m of water, with the superstructure at 17m below the surface.
PM Sail to small picturesque village - either Vathi or Korfos.

FRIDAY: AM Return to our base on Aegina island, with a stop for a snorkel in the wonderfully clear water around the island of Agistri.

Accommodation Details

Accommodation is on board your yacht. We can take up to six people on each boat. The crew helps with every aspect of sailing, including preparing breakfast and lunch (food provided).

The yachts have three double cabins and are equipped with bimini tent and swim ladder for comfortable warm weather cruising.
